Hair clips: this summer’s hot trend

It's spring! Time to say goodbye to wool beanies and hello to hair pins, the chicest trend for the chicest girls

Bye bye beanies and bucket hats, it’s finally time to let our hair free! With the increasing of the temperatures and the warm season almost here, the moment has come to choose the perfect hair clips, the next big thing for this summer.

  • Logo

It all started with Chanel, who loved the very chic contrast between the essentialism of her perfectly fitted suits and the almost tacky bijoux worn as a final touch. Pearls around her neck, earrings, bracelets… so why not hair clips? The iconic double C makes them an all time favorite. Gucci and Versace did the same as well, using their logos to decorate influencers’s heads, or Bella Hadid’s and Dua Lipa’s hair.

  • Lettering

Ashley Williams, a young London-based designer with a very girly yet punk aesthetic, made the most wanted hair pins ever. Her models were hairstyled with several pins, all glittery, with words such as “Girl”“Maybe”“Bye”“Paranoia”… it’s up to you to choose your message! You can find several fac-similes on websites (if you check out Etsy you’ll find an uncountable number of pins).

  • Pearls

Alyssa Coscarelli, an IG it girl and freelance editor, has a thing for hair pins, especially pearly ones. The same for Anna Astrup, a Danish beauty, who recently gave a feminine twist to her very comfy total blue look. Her hair clips are from @sagapearls, a Danish brand specialized in covering hair accessories with pure white pearls.

  • Flowers, shells, hearts…

Another very interesting Danish brand is @kanel_denmark, who makes original and yet essential hair clips in colorful shades and various shapes, from the geometrical ones to the daisy-shaped cutest clips (and their photoshoot are so dreamy). Very similar, and yet different, is the huge choice from @margheritauniverse, which makes hair clips in romantic shapes, pastel colors and precious details. Its moodboard is hugely inspired by the 50s, 60s and 70s atmospheres, very feminine and joyful. For something even more eccentric and exotic, check out @timeless.pearly, a French brand that produces handmade jewels and accessories with shell, corals, stars, baroque pearls, stones,… good shopping!
