We met Julia Beo, a Marangoni ex-student, freelance stylist. She told us what goes on in the mind of someone like her when she reflects, when she works, when she celebrates and she has recommended 5 passe-partout outfits.

Tell us about yourself.

I’m Julia Beo and I’m 23 years old. Last year I finished my studies as a stylist at Istituto Marangoni. I then started working as a freelance for editorial in which I can fully express my personality and for video clips and advertising.

The video world fascinates me a lot. I would like to get closer and closer using my experience and my vision of the world to create scripts as a creative director. However, I would never abandon the job of stylist. I love this universe since I was young, I’ve always liked to create new worlds or be able to represent the illusion inspired by the past.

Many tell me that I should have been born in another era. If I could, I would be 20 years old in 1968 and I would live in California. I would be born punk and then become hippy and still follow the post punk wave…

Another one, on the other hand, would like to have been a diva of the ’30s and to dance Charleston, all night long, in a speakeasy during the Prohibition.

What is the creative process behind the construction of a look?

To achieve a look I take inspiration from everyday life, from what surrounds me. Everything can be a creative stimulus. I like watching people when they walk and their characteristics. I like studying them when they go around the city on subway, on the street or at the fruit and vegetables market. Then, stories are born… as if the character of a book or a film is hidden behind every face. To conceive a look, all the imagination must take the field.

What do you think is a “second skin” outfit?

For me the definable “second skin” outfit is cool but still cozy. I wouldn’t give up anything in the world for comfort and comfort.

The place where you go to reflect.

The train, the park and the bookshop.

What are the three best Instagram accounts from which to take inspiration?

By now Instagram has become a manual of things to say. If I had to recommend three IG accounts they would be these:

@annejohannsen

@missfashionboss

@tomjohnsonstudio

The ideal item to celebrate the achievement of a personal goal.

All the Prada SS1995 fashion show’s items.
