Photographed and directed by Glen Luchford, from an idea by Alessandro Michele, Gucci’s new SS19 campaign takes us back to the Hollywood of the ’50s. The jump is immediate. The atmosphere created is distinguished by strong colors, sequins, jewels and smiles as much forced as well-chosen.
The colored photos alternate with a series in black and white.
Then, a movie with the soundtrack “There’s No Business Like Show Business”.
Dancers, actors, managers and crew members are the protagonists of the images behind which an ironic vein is hidden. From cinema to parties, from backstage to the Hollywood dream. Everything is represented by catching the flavor of a show that must begin and must always go on.
