TEDxBolognaWomen - Perspectives - Reportage

We were in Bologna listening to the words of women who brought an idea

By

2.30pm, 12/08/2018, Royal Carlton Hotel, Bologna.  TEDxBolognaWomen - Perspectives is an event dedicated to the power of women and young women who are advocates of a change, of an evolution that has occurred in one's life and, consequently, in the lives of others. TEDxBolognaWomen - Perspectives - Reportage_acrimoniamagazine The focus was to spread an idea, whatever it was. An idea that embodies a value, whatever it was. The word passed from an eagle trainer to a robot expert, from a social entrepreneur to a biographer writer without forgetting a sculptor, a blind man, who then made clear why he was there. Selene Pulcini, Laura Margheri, Raffaella Pannuti, Maria Pastore, Elena Lavezzi, Felice Tagliaferri, Anna Ghiotti, Darya Majidi. TEDxBolognaWomen - Perspectives - Reportage_acrimonia3 Each of the protagonists of the day wanted to tell their visions from a different perspective, their own. Perspective that, thanks to the talent of the speakers has magically become shared. In the crucial issues addressed, the female point of view is the fundamental pillar of the event. Women have conducted the talks and shown to have courage, competence and heart. TEDxBolognaWomen - Perspectives - Reportage_acrimonia2 “Women are increasingly active”, spoke the speech of the robot expert Laura Margheri. Phrase, of course, to contextualize. The reflection was, in fact, made during the realization of her doctoral thesis and the study of the behavior of female octopuses which, apparently, would have shown to have greater abilities than males. “Undoubtedly, the robotics sector is still predominantly male. Despite this, I’m witnessing a change, there is a greater determination on the part of women and girls who want to dispel the vision of male engineering. Women want to overcome this gender difference. More and more female figures are being seen to coordinate research groups and projects. There is still a social discourse, a speech that starts from education. Often we females are given a doll, males a car. This is in itself a separation,” says Laura in response to our question about why role equality is still far away. “These are changes that must start from education and education at home, in schools, in sports centers, in television models and on the web. We should give more visibility to female managers in different sectors, so as to make them tangible. At the same time, I don’t want to be facilitated as a woman. I want to be evaluated for my abilities as a person, not because I belong to the female gender.” It is then the turn of Felice Tagliaferri, the only man protagonist of the talk. Soul controversial, blind sculptor, lover of life. The author of the Pietà of Michelangelo overturned, where the crude Christ holds the Madonna in his arms. “My will is to overturn the roles. Even if blind, I live in today's world. The problem of the mistreated woman is a problem for everyone, I feel it over me.” He declares with respect to the question of why he is distorting a work so acclaimed in its meaning. An experience that demonstrates the tenor of women, the strength in supporting their ideals, the desire to show that they have made it, despite the obstacles without which women sometimes feel defeated.
