October. The month that marks the end of summer. Emblem of the return to reality.
The She Rules current month's protagonist is Veronica Varetta, @whosvv, LIL founder (@lil_milan), a precious metal jewelery brand based in Milan.
Here's what she told us:
Tell us about yourself and what you do in life.
Sagittarius, born in 1992, I like sports and my mother used to call me VV when I was a child. I have an independent spirit but I love having a routine. I studied Economics and Management of Cultural Heritage and before starting to work full time on LIL I lived three years in New York. I would call myself curious about nature and enterprising. A typical day begins with reading e-mails while I drink coffee, and then go to the office. My routine in "LILoffice" is never the same, ranging from ordinary administration to the organization of communication and events until the creation and prototyping of new designs. Let's say you never get bored!
Why is LIL born?
For my personal need. I couldn’t find the jewels I wanted on the market, in precious metal and at an affordable price. That's how I became interested in the goldsmith world. It is essential that every design is comfortable and can be worn at any time of day, from the gym to dinner with friends. Like a second skin, the motto is "gold for your everyday skin".
Your main source of inspiration?
Architecture and design above all, I like studying colors, textures and shapes. Then, all the women, friends and colleagues, who are part of my daily life.
What would you have done if you hadn't become a jewelry designer?
I would have liked to work in finance but I've never felt good enough with the numbers to get completely involved.
How do you see yourself and LIL in the near future?
An increasingly large and close-knit team, with many projects and ideas to develop. An even larger community of LILgirls to offer more content and services. I would like to motivate and support them in doing what they feel (and that they really love.)
